One of our most popular shirt designs, the Parapuzosia or "Giant Ammonite" is an illustration from the book, Spirals in Time: The Secret Life and Curious Afterlife of Seashells, written by UK marine biologist, Dr. Helen Scales, illustrated by Cotton Crustacean's owner and founder, Aaron John Gregory, and published by Bloomsbury Sigma. It was released in 2015 to rave reviews, and I'm happy to report that Cotton Crustacean just ordered and received two large boxes of this mollusk gospel in both paperback and hardcover!!
What that means is, we'll have package deals including the book and the "Giant Ammonite" shirt and/or the Thecostoma "Sea Butterflies" shirt (directly above), which was also an illustration from the book. Or you can just buy the book by itself straight from us, either from this site or at any of our pop-up shop events.
The book is an enthralling read, charming, funny, and packed full of mind blowing info about one of the most bizarre and diverse phylums in the animal kingdom. It's a must have for any ocean aficionado, so makes a great gift or addition to your own personal library.
